Every prompt you use
should be your best prompt.
One click turns a rough prompt into a great one. Then it's yours forever. One hotkey away from anywhere.
The AI prompt manager for macOS & Windows. Runs on your machine. Free during early access.
ThatPrompt is an AI prompt manager for macOS and Windows. It saves the prompts you write, rewrites rough ones into precise ones with a built-in Enhance button, and brings any of them back with a global hotkey from inside whatever app you are already in. Enhancement runs on a model on your own machine, so your prompts never leave it.
The problem
Why you can never find the prompt you wrote last week
It's Tuesday morning. You need that prompt.
The one that caught three bugs in a single code review. The one that generated exactly the right API response. You wrote it last week. It was perfect.
So you check Notion. Then a Google Doc called "AI stuff." Then you scroll through a long list of unnamed ChatGPT conversations. Nothing.
You retype something from memory. Vague this time. Missing the constraints. Missing the context. The AI gives you a mediocre answer. You go back and forth for a while to get what one good prompt would have given you instantly.
You're not bad at prompting. You just don't have a tool that makes every prompt great and keeps it within reach.
The key feature
How prompt enhancement works
One click turns a rough prompt into a great one.
ThatPrompt has a built-in Enhance button. It rewrites your prompt to be clearer, more specific, and more effective. It adds context, constraints, and output format so you get the right answer on the first try.
Stop engineering prompts by hand. Write what you mean, hit Enhance, and get a prompt that actually works.
And it all happens on your machine. You pick a model during setup and ThatPrompt downloads it once. Every enhancement after that runs on your own hardware, offline. Your prompts are never sent to us, or to anyone else.
Before
Review my code and tell me if there are any issues.
After enhance
Review this code for edge cases, error handling gaps, and performance issues. Flag any security concerns. Suggest fixes with brief explanations.
Before
Write me a marketing email for our new feature.
After enhance
Write a concise marketing email (under 150 words) announcing our new feature to existing users. Tone: friendly, direct, no hype. Include one clear CTA. Subject line should drive opens.
Before
Analyse this data and tell me what you find.
After enhance
Analyse this CSV for trends, outliers, and correlations across all numeric columns. Summarise the top 3 findings with supporting numbers. Flag anything that looks anomalous. Output as a brief report with one chart suggestion per finding.
How it works
How ThatPrompt works
Save. Enhance. Find. Paste.
Save & enhance
Paste any prompt. Hit Enhance to make it great. Save it. The title is written for you, on your machine. Your best prompt is ready in seconds.
Find instantly
Press the hotkey from anywhere. Type a few characters. Fuzzy search finds the right prompt as fast as you can type it. Hit Enter to copy.
Gets smarter over time
The prompts you use most float to the top. No starring, no pinning. Your best-performing prompts are always one keystroke away.
Select text in any app and hit ⌘/Ctrl+Shift+E to enhance it in place. Every shortcut is yours to rebind in Settings.
What you get
What ThatPrompt does that a notes app doesn't
Not another notes app. A prompt engine.
AI-powered Enhance
One click rewrites any prompt to be clearer, more specific, and more effective. Your rough draft becomes a precision instrument.
Runs on your machine
Enhance runs on a model you download once and own. No server round-trip, no API key, no usage meter. Your prompts never leave your device.
Works from any app
Desktop app with a global hotkey. VS Code, Cursor, Slack, your terminal. Summon your best prompt without switching windows.
Actually fast
Window open in under 100ms. Search results in under 50ms. If it's slower than retyping a bad prompt, we've failed.
Invisible until you need it
No dock icon. No menu bar clutter. ThatPrompt appears when you summon it and disappears when you're done.
Yours to organise
Sort prompts into folders, pick a theme that suits you, and export the lot to a file whenever you want. It's your library, not ours.
But why not...
How ThatPrompt compares to ChatGPT, snippet managers and notes apps
ThatPrompt vs writing better prompts by hand
“I'll just write better prompts myself.” You can. But engineering a great prompt from scratch takes real time, and it takes it every single time. ThatPrompt's Enhance button does it in one click. It adds structure, constraints, and specificity that gets the right answer on the first try.
ThatPrompt vs ChatGPT custom instructions
“ChatGPT remembers my instructions.” Custom instructions are one prompt for everything. ThatPrompt gives you the right enhanced prompt for each specific task: code review, writing, debugging, analysis. All instantly accessible from any app.
ThatPrompt vs Raycast and Alfred snippets
“Alfred and Raycast snippets work fine.” Snippets paste static text. ThatPrompt enhances your prompts before you save them and surfaces the ones you use most. It's a prompt-specific tool, not a generic text expander.
ThatPrompt vs keeping prompts in Notion
“I keep mine in Notion.” That's a detour every time: switch apps, search, copy, switch back. ThatPrompt does it without leaving the window you are already in. And your prompts are enhanced, not just stored.
ThatPrompt vs cloud AI writing tools
“I'm not sending my work to another AI service.” You aren't. Enhancement runs on a model installed on your own machine, so your prompt content never reaches us or any third party. Nothing to opt out of, because nothing is sent.
FAQ
Common questions about ThatPrompt
How does Enhance work?
Enhance rewrites your prompt using a language model that runs on your own machine. It adds context, constraints, output format, and specificity. It turns a rough idea into a structured prompt that gets better results. You can review and edit the enhanced version before saving.
Do my prompts get sent to your servers?
No. Enhancement and title generation run entirely on your device, on a model you download during setup. We never receive your prompt content, so we cannot read it, store it, or train on it. Once the model is installed, enhancement works offline.
What do I need to install?
The app, plus one model that you pick during setup. The models are between 640 MB and 810 MB, and the smallest needs 2 GB of RAM while the recommended one needs 4 GB. The setup screen checks your machine and flags anything it cannot run.
Do I need an account?
Yes. You sign in once during setup. Your prompts still live on your machine and are never uploaded. The account is what lets us tie your licence and your feedback to you.
Is this just a text expander?
No. Text expanders paste static snippets. ThatPrompt enhances your prompts with AI, gives you fuzzy search across your entire library, and automatically surfaces the prompts you use most. It's a prompt-specific tool built around making every prompt great.
Does it work with ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, etc.?
Yes. ThatPrompt copies your enhanced prompt to the clipboard and works with any application where you can paste text. It's not tied to any specific AI tool.

About
Gui Ferreira
The guy who made this.
I've spent 18+ years helping developers simplify their work. Through courses on Dometrain , workshops, and conference talks on maintainability, TDD, and software architecture. Always the same goal: strip away the unnecessary so you can focus on what matters.
ThatPrompt started when I noticed I was spending more time hunting for prompts than writing code. I built it to simplify my own workflow. Turns out it simplified everyone's. It's now made and maintained under my company, Black Lab Studios.
